The Cinquantenaire Exhibition of Photography
At last the 'Capital of Europe' has a permanent exhibition to celebrate the history of photography. This exhibition at the Royal Museums of Art and History is centred on three main themes - the art of projection, portraits and early photos taken by intrepid travellers. On display are early cameras and the magic lanterns, as well as a reconstruction of an early studio complete with exotically painted backdrop where great-grandparents sat for their stiff, formal portraits.
